Accounts

Botmain supports 3 types of accounts:

  • Blockchain Accounts: These are accounts linked to a self-custody address. To use a Blockchain Account for automated trading you need to import your seed or private key into Botmain Wallet. Alternatively, you can create a new address in Botmain Wallet and fund it externally.
  • Exchange Accounts: These are linked to your external exchange accounts. To use an Exchange Account for automated trading you need to login to your account on the exchange and generate API keys with permissions to place trades. You can import your API key into Botmain Wallet to begin using Exchange Accounts for automated trading.
  • Simulator Accounts: These are fake money accounts used exclusively for testing (backtesting, forward-testing, etc) and can be "funded" freely with any currency in a few clicks by going to the account settings:
